Happy 400th!

From 2010 Blog
- Happy 400th Anniversary to the City of Hampton Virginia. Founded on July 9, 1610 - yes that's right 16-10, 10 years before the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock. This is a picture inside of the fourth St. John's Parrish Church built in 1728. The town was originally called Kecoughtan after the Native American community located on the same site, it was later renamed to Elizabeth City, then Southampton and finally Hampton. Canon G10, 1/60 sec @ f/4, ISO 400, with flash.

Your descriptions (words) only show up when I see the post in my Google subscription lise. When I go to your actual blog the photo is there as well, but without the prose.

To this post I would add a thank you for reminding everyone of the fact that Va. is older the Ma.

Les, sorry about the blog text being hard to read. It works OK on Firefox, Safari, Google Chrome and IE8 but another of my followers has reported a problem with IE7 where the text is not visible. I've made a couple of changes trying to fix it and will keep trying. If you highlight the text with the mouse like you're selecting it, it shows up. Weird stuff. Thanks for comments and I'm so sorry to learn of Miss Patsy's passing.
