Mr. Submarine

Zero's Subs was founded in 1967 as the original sub sandwich shop in Hampton Roads Virginia. They are still "Hot and on a Roll!" Canon G11, 1/10 sec @ f/8.0, ISO 200.

Hallowskull

Captured this skull at Target's Halloween display. There must have been a dozen different skulls to choose from, light up skulls, screaming skulls and plain creepy skulls. iPhone 5, 1/20 sec @ f/2.4, ISO 125, Camera+ app.

Meet "Wilson" a large chunk a concrete removed during the installation of hot and chilled water lines for the new Norfolk Courthouse. Canon G11, 1/320 sec @ f/8.0, ISO 400.

Neon

Jacks

Any body up for a game of onesies, twosies, threesies, foursies, fivesies? Today jacks come in these soft neon rubber variety rather than the painted metal ones I remember as a kid. Canon 7D, 1/200 sec @ f/5.6, ISO 400, 100mm macro lens.

Neon Dash

- The trademark orange dash lights of BMW with a neon outline effect added through Google's Picasa. iPhone 4, 1/15 sec @ f/2.8, ISO 1000.

Fat Tire

- The Fat Tire neon sign at Mellow Mushroom Pizza in downtown Raleigh North Carolina. Canon G1X, 1/160 sec @ f/5.8, ISO 400.

Taillight

- Classic taillight from a 1962 Ford Thunderbird. I post processed this image using Google Picasa and new feature in version 3.9 called "Neon." With the Neon effect I used a brown color choice, faded the effect back to about 50% intensity. Then bumped the saturation a wee bit to pop the red on the taillight and applied a slight vignette to finish off the image. Canon G11, 1/15 sec @ f/2.8, ISO 400,

- On Super Bowl Sunday it's 5:00 everywhere. Canon G11, 1/25 sec @ f/8.0, ISO 200.

Down to the Last "s"

- The sign on the old location of Harry's BBQ on Norfolk Virginia's Granby Street. is down to just one "s". They moved around the corner on Tazewell Street in 2007 but their old sign has remained lit for almost 5 years. iPhone 4, 1/120 sec @ f/2.8, ISO 125, Camera+ app.

NOLA

Bourbon Street in New Orleans is like no other place in America. The neon says it all. The old American Bank & Trust Company and the former Hibernia National Bank are illuminated in the background sky. Canon G11, 1/40 sec @ f/8.0, ISO 800.

- Yes I'm a sucker for neon signs and I always take pictures of them. This one is at the Big Easy Oyster Bar in Norfolk Virginia. The oysters were great! Canon G11, 1/160 sec @ f/8.0, ISO 400.

Better Off Here
