At first glance these appear to be sharp prick-lies. Actually it is an extreme close-up of the fine soft surface of an African violet leaf. I took this photo last night after the bloom picture that was featured on yesterday's post. Canon 7D, 1/50 sec @ f/4.0, ISO 800, 65mm MP-E macro lens.

Love your macros! I bought some reversing rings to mount my 50mm backwards onto my 70-300mm to try this the hard way! Am hoping for results like yours...
