In another life I worked for the downtown Omni, and one year we hosted an economic form. I remember an out-of-town speaker remarking how positive it was to see cranes on the horizon as he came in from the airport. He just knew they meant new buildings were under construction, so the local economy was evidently doing well. Being a polite audience, no one corrected him as to their purpose.
