Moth Under Glass

- I guess the title of this post would be more accurate as "Moth on Glass." This little moth was on my side storm door so I took the opportunity to make her portrait. She's only about half an inch long. Canon 7D, 1/320 sec @ f/4.0, ISO 800, 100mm macro, lighting from the porch light and a Micro LED Litepanel.

- We All Scream For Ice Cream! My grandson Robert enjoying his ice cream cone at DQ following dinner celebrating his daddy's birthday. Brian is 33 today, happy birthday son! Elise

- The Lotus Elise is a fiberglass body and aluminum chassis true roadster sports car. It's mid-engine power and read wheel drive make for an amazing handling car that can reach speeds of 150 MPH. The is a true sports car driver's automobile as the design aims to reduce weight, so there's not much in the amenities department. It's purpose is only to take two people and move them very fast. County Court

- Many of Virginia's counties have 300+ year histories and Northampton County on Virginia's Eastern Shore is one of the oldest. The building in the foreground is the 1731 Courthouse while the building in the background is the 18th century Clerk's Office once home to the oldest continuous county court records in the country which have been maintained since 1632. The entire courthouse green complex is one of the best preserved in Virginia and so ends today's Virginia history lesson. Canon G11, 1/640 sec @ f/8.0, ISO 200.

Caterpillar Rain

- We had a nice short little rain shower this evening but it was probably not enough to make much difference in our dry summer. But this little caterpillar was oblivious to rain while he was munching away on my rosemary. Canon 7D, 1/125 sec @ f/5.6, ISO 1600, 100mm macro.

Yuk-Yuk & Joe's

We drove over to Eastville a small town on Virginia's Eastern Shore today. We saw this little place - Yuk-Yuk & Joe's Restaurant and Bar just outside of town. Typical of Virginia's rural Eastern Shore with it's tin roof, clapboard siding, oyster shell parking lot and the ever present American Flag. It was pretty empty early on a Sunday afternoon, may be it rocks on Saturday nights. Canon G11, 1/320 sec @ f.8.0, ISO 100.
